Father’s Day with Jaemon

July 9, 2012 by Admin Leave a Comment

Raymond Looi with his second son - Jaemon Looi

Brothers and sisters and friends, the news of Jaemon Looi was updated up to moment of his delivery, which may worry you, and I would like to apologize to all of you! The reason behind was that I as a father, and the mother have been working hard in preparation and adaption in taking care of Jaemon. Thank God that all are settled down now. I would like to share with all my experiences on this Father’s day.

During the pregnancy, Raymond and Joyce prayed for the baby in the womb will be as healthy and beautiful as his elder brother. During that period, I have an understanding of what Jesus had said before he went to the cross. “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me;” I had the same wish that my son will not be suffered. Pain was striking my heart. Jesus’ prayer didn’t stop at His own will but He said, “yet not my will, but yours be done” This was a prayer that I was not willing to make. However, Raymond still follows the steps of the Lord and surrenders everything to Abba Father.

God let Jaemon born with Cleft Lip and Palate in our house. I thought that I would cry so badly when I first witness my son’s defect; conversely I captured his precious moment with joy. Once due to hygiene, I was “forbidden” by my wife from kissing my elder son for a month but this time around she kissed him right after he is delivered. It is so true that love can overcome everything!

Although families have been informed about Jaemon’s situation, still there’s a worry that they cannot accept or startled. How can their love be lesser than ours? Upon seeing this grandson, nephew… everybody is so happy that they are unwilling to let him go. I’m so grateful inside that this child’s arrival has gathered both families ever more. God removed the cup of Jesus in order to accomplish the beautiful things. We believe that the burden of witnessing the beauty is entrusted to us. We hope that this testimony will be a great help for many, all glory to name of the Lord!

Since God let Jaemon to be born with defect, His grace and strength are doubled. We are so surprise that this child is able to breast-feed with great appetite to fill up his stomach. This will be able to achieve first requirement of surgery – to be weight at least 10 pounds. Besides, another requirement of surgery would be having 10 and above circulating blood volume.

Jaemon Looi undergoing pre-surgery treatment Finally, Jaemon had paid a visit to Teeth Correction Doctor and started the first step of treatment – Strapping. The purpose is to let the cleft lip and teeth grow toward inside so that the cleft part will be nearer and this will help to make the surgery easier. Upon this stage, there will be Palate mold for both Jaemon’s palate and nose so that the cleft palate gets closer in his growing. The cost of Palate mold alone is around RM3000. The pre-surgery fee is quite a big amount and the surgery fee will be even more. What parents can do in such situation is to give the best to the child so that his heart is not suffering a setback and to leave no regrets.

I know that we will be in the journey that is different from other parents since 3rd June. Yet, we did not complain and cried out “why?” What we know is to believe God until the end! 1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” Raymond believes that God will look after, we will never let us fall because there will be one voice lesser in the evangelism and one team lesser if we unable to overcome it. He will help us to go through every hardship and intercede for us through those who hear, understand and touched so that we will not have any worries to continue in sharing the Gospel.

Last but not least, thank you for all generous brothers, sisters and friends who give us the love offering. We experience the strength of love through you and knowing that we are not alone. Therefore, there is still happiness in this Father’s day! Love remains. Thanks a million!
